If you own a second home or a furnished property that isn’t your main residence, many council areas have chosen to charge for the full council tax plus a premium of 100%. But not in East Hampshire.

Councillors voted down the amendment to the recommendation at the February full council meeting to phase in a 50% premium from 1st April 2026.
