Dawn Chorus Day is a national event run by the RSPB.
In Petersfield, local environmental group PeCAN is organising an opportunity to gather and listen to the first calls of the day.
The event takes place on Petersfield Heath on Sunday 4 May.
Melanie says you're likely to hear blackbirds, song thrush, robin, woodpeckers, chetty's warbler and chiffchaff among others.
Melanie and Stephen recorded their conversation in Merritt's Meadow Nature Reserve which is between Sandringham Road and Tilmore, close to the railway line.
