Celebrate the frontline workers of the canine world.

Kate Fairweather comes face to face with a diverse cast of working dogs, perfectly equipped with the instincts, intelligence and training to handle everything their jobs throw at them.

Humans and dogs have worked together for centuries - and still do today in our communities.

Some work with handlers, drawing on their natural hunting, herding, or guarding instincts, or an exceptional sense of smell. Others perform caring roles, providing companionship and support to humans.

What qualities make a good therapy dog?

Jeremy Mitchell, the keeper of the Edward Thomas archive based at Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery, tells Mike Waddington that local history or literature students might be missing an edge as the Edward Thomas Fellowship has resources about the times, the poetry and the area - and the connection to Morning Has Broken.

He talks about Edward Thomas, his relationship with Robert Frost and shows him some of their historical acquisitions from their archives,

The latest contains notes and thoughts in a first edition of Thomas's poems, giving a contemporaneous view from over 100 years ago. 

Others offer mysteries to be solved, like a hand written poem to Rupert Brooke from 1919.

The Fellowship would be pleased to see students interested in the life and times of Edward Thomas.

Edward Thomas resource is available to find a treasure in

East Hampshire District Council is cracking down on businesses storing commercial waste bins in its car parks without permission. 
After contacting those responsible and offering alternatives, the council says it will remove and dispose of bins that remain on its land.
