Vet Ruth Brownlee, from St Peters Vets, offers advice about pet care in the hot weather.
She talks about looking after dogs, including those with pre-existing health conditions and flat-faced breeds, and what to do if you think they are over heating.
Speaking to Mike Waddington she also talks about what to do if your dog is bitten by an adder, out basking at this time of year including on the Heath. They see have a dozen animals a year bitten by adders (and it is treatable) one dog bitten twice in consecutive years.
Insect and bee stings can be a problem too, usually swelling and very rarely anaphylaxis.
