This week, on Thursday 8 May,  the country will celebrate VE80 -  80 years since the end of the war in Europe.

We’ve been asking Petersfield residents what they recall from that time.

Shirley Roberts, who is 92 in June, told Mike Waddington, sometimes tearfully, about her memories of being evacuated aged six from Essex, her memories and fears of the bombing and Doodlebugs, the end of the War and the effect of all this on her later life and her love of home.

She says, "I have loved life but my god, i have been very lucky."
