Charles Bevan, Chair of Trustees at the Winton House Centre, and Sheridan Rocher, Manager of Age Concern (also based there), pay their tributes to Joyce Perry who died on Friday 6 September. 

Joyce, who believed in the good voluntary services do,  worked to create the Winton House Centre from the 1980s till very recently,

Local news for Tuesday 21st April

In the Sportlight welcomes back it's knight of the oval coffee table, yes Isaac's back to share his customary wisdom and wit. In this episode Petersfield Rugby club begin their campaign for promotion to Regional Division 1 but have the toughest of tasks as they face Winchester in the first round of the knockout stages. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . With football still mainly dominating the sporting scene just now, Petersfield the men's rams side wrap up their season with 3 games in a week culminating in a home showdown with East Cowes Victoria. Can they sign off a difficult season on a high? And the women's rams are beginning their final run towards league glory. With most of their tough away games played, Liss Athletic have a casual run in towards the end of their season campaign. In the Sportlight 20th April

Petersfield Women's Institute has trained over 100 of their members in CPR and they are holding an event in Rams Walk on Saturday morning, 2 May, to increase awareness about CPR.

Anne Jones, the local WI's Community Officer tells Mike Waddington about the event, which includes a fund raising cake sale as well as a Trail for children to follow.

The central purpose is working with local charity Saving Lives Together about CPR training, especially as UK resus rates are only 1 in 10 whereas other countries reach 4 or 5 in 10. 

The WI also point out that more men than women are resuscitated because of anxiety around women's anatomy.

They are also raising funds for Saving Lives Together to buy female dummies for their training.
