On Saturday evening 7 March the Salvation Army celebrated 140 years in Petersfield at the Methodist Church.
The Youth Chorus (leader Helen Main) and the 20 strong united bands of Petersfield, Ringwood and Salisbury (Band Master Ken Freeman) soon had the audience bobbing heads and tapping feet to the beat.
The special guest was Commissioner Paul Main, the Head of the church in the UK and Ireland, ordained 40 years ago.
He spoke to Mike Waddington about the celebration and also their national work for the Government on modern slavery, rescuing thousands of people.
Local leader Mike Harris led the celebration, reading birthday messages from Petersfield Army people from 1950s and 960s
We hear from Paul Main, Mike Harris, Steve Field, Ken Freeman and audience members Rachel, Anne and Kelly.
