Richard Welch, the Volunteer Fishing bailiff, gave us an update on the Heath Pond, which is thriving.
This is confirmed by the Regulators who test the water quality and the health of the fish.
He spoke to Mike Waddington about plans for the year which the Town Council have allocated a budget for, especially keeping algae under control but also for increasing the plant life (if the Egyptian Geese don't eat them all).
He explains why the water changes colour, even whilst the quality tests 'good'.
He is still concerned about catapult crime and police patrols have been increased.
But, he said, it’s not for swimming in, though the Scouts canoe there and there are the pleasure boats.
