The October Fair on the Heath goes back to 1820, and possibly further than that say local community champion, Jeremy Holmes.
He tells Mike Waddington about that tradition and how big a part of Petersfield life it is.
He's been coming for over 50 years and has helped set it up and take it down.
It was opened by local Showman and 'Spieler', David Weekes.
The families have long ties to Petersfield and they will be back - fuel prices are not helping.
Jeremy calls for more support for them on their return.
