An iconic mosaic depicting a Petersfield map and images of local interest has been reinstalled after a recent new development in Dragon Street - with a corner now being obscured by an ugly black box, a piece of long-standing equipment positioned next to the creation on the pavement.

A corner of Petersfield obliterated from town centre mosaic - local residents are not map happy

A major (though largely internal) renovation of St Peter's Hall, in the Town's conservation area, opposite the Museum, has been granted planning permission.

The Hall is used extensively by the community and local organisations; from residents' meetings to arts and performance as well as groups like Headway and AA; the NHS also held its Rowan Ward consultations there.

The works are now out to tender. 

The Church will provide half of the cost with the rest hopefully coming from grants and donations. 

The hall will be closed for 5 to 6 months around April/May and reopen sometime in October.

St Peter's Treasurer, Steve Hitchmough, speaking to Mike Waddington, explains the project and also preparing for an Diocese Architectural Review of St Peter's Church itself.

Local news for Monday 19th January

On Tuesday 13th January Petersfield Football club dropped a bombshell through social media that they were parting ways half way through the season with their overachieving manager Connor Hoare. This news rocked the Petersphere and just as the anger and confusion began to surface amongst the fans, it's alleged that all the players and coaching staff of the men's first team quit soon after. The board of directors came under fire as fans and players criticised the running of the club. The board decided to hold a meeting at the club on Friday to address fan concerns and inform them of the most immediate plans to tackle the crisis. Shine Radio attended the meeting and spoke with members of the board to ask why it had come to this and what the next step is.
