Hear what happened when family pets from across Petersfield and far beyond brought their owners to St Peter's Church for a unique pets' service.

The Reverend Will Hughes, Vicar of Petersfield and Rector of Buriton led the service to celebrate pets and the loving roles they play in the lives of local families.

Petersfield Community Radio reporter Noni Needs joined the Reverend Williams, assistant curate Sam Cullen, Revevered Helen Mitchell and the rest of the parish team at St Peter’s Church for their first ever celebration of Pets.

The congregation included dogs Rufus, Charlie, Max and Rum, Somnus the tortoise, Dobby the cat and a rabbit.

The service was organised by Ruth Pyke, children’s advisor St Alban’s Diocese, Reverend Sue Hart, Salisbury Diocese and adapted from A service for the Blessing of Animals by The Society of St. Francis.
