Last weekend many of you went out to remove weeds by hand.

Petersfield’s Shine Radio spoke to Julie Yardley in passageway by the Petersfield Museum. A footpath used by many to get to the centre of town. She was there with a team of willing volunteers.

A distinctive veteran Petersfield car is off the road for repairs.

Brian Keys packed his 96-year old open top Rolls Royce onto the back of a truck yesterday after it developed a clutch fault.

The car is often seen on Heath Road outside Mr Keys home but it's now in the care of specialist engineers at JSW in Waterlooville and is not expected back in Petersfield for two weeks.

Petersfield Books commemorates the 80th anniversary of D Day (6 June) with readings from the poets of the Second World War.

Robert, Manager of Petersfield Books tells us more and quotes a sonnet by Dennis McHarrie, in the RAF and who fought in the Second World War:

The event is at Petersfield Bookshop at 7:30pm on Thursday 30 May; entry £5.
