The sun shone for the events held at Stroud House and Downs House, ensuring everyone could get out and enjoy the summer sun. There was entertainment, events and of course plenty of food coming off of the BBQ.

Last Friday (15th August) relatives came to join the the residents and staff at Downs House to have fun in the sun. 

Both Stroud Fest and Downs Fete raised £2900, all for Dementia Friendly Petersfield.

Stroud Fest and Downs Fete had loads of fun while raising funds at the same time

Council tax increase of £5 a year will go towards investing in crucial local infrastructure with £750,000 to enhance our local car parks.

It was agreed at the last Full Council meeting to continue with community grants to support local organisations, community facilities and climate-related projects.

EHDC’s share of the Council Tax remains lower than most comparable councils in the region.

Audrey Morton from Dementia Friendly Petersfield says this is an important opinion survey and people should not hold back from recording their view about what it is like for them if they have dementia or are caring for someone with the disease. 

She’s filling it in herself; it’s anonymous so say what you need to.

Many groups, including Dementia Friendly Petersfield, are putting it on Facebook and at meetings so all views can be collected - in writing as well as online.

Audrey says, "the front tine" - people with dementia or carers - needs to be heard but also needs to be spoken.

Hampshire County Council say:  

We want to know what matters to you – people living with dementia, families, carers and anyone with experience to share.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 12 April 2026.

Almost 150 people attended the funeral in St Mary Magadalen in Sheet, to loud big band music on Wednesday 11 March.

Survived by his wife and daughter, mother and brother, Martin was a Petersfield Town Councillor but was most known for the 61 charity markets organised over the years to raise funds for cancer servces and research, with his brother Jeremey, who delivered an affectionate tribute at the event.
