A member of the Dementia Choir did a tandem parachute jump at the beginning of May and raised £1500 for Dementia Friendly Petersfield.

Audrey Morton says the money will go to their activities like the Dementia Choir and their Walking Football tournament on 27 June.

Their next Tea Dance is at Churcher's College on 31 May.

Roger Petch takes a leap for Dementia Friendly Petersfield!

On Saturday 30 May people are invited to the Merritts Meadow Nature Day, from 10:30am, at the top of North Road (near The Barn).

It’s about celebrating biodiversity on the one acre community owned site.

Melanie Oxley is a trustee of the site and she tells Mike Waddington more about the day, the activities on offer, and how the community came up with Trust that runs the site.

She favours Gilbert White's phrase, "to see nature narrowly" and observe nature close up.

Coffee and Cake for Age Concern Petersfield on 20 May was a big success.

The generous support of the Clavio Lounge for this simple idea was effective and appreciated , says Age Concern manager  Sheridan Rocher, who tells Mike Waddington about it.

Sheridan also promotes Age Concern Petersfield's IT courses - they offer six sessions with any device for £8 a session with patient and knowledgeable IT Coaches.

A £3,500 grant award  from Museum Development South West, with thanks to Arts Council England., means the Museum and Art Gallery can convert the coffee shop are into a creative space for the community to work in differing ways and media.

Sue, the Learning and Community Development Officer, speaking to Mike Waddington, talks abut the space, how it will be used and also describes some of the equipment there too sample arts and crafts, very much in the tradition of Flora Twort and her workshop.

Sue also talks about the Sketch Club - also an idea from Flora Twort's own work - which has been a big success.

They also have half term events next week in the Studio too!
