Following an online meeting about the proposed change on the evening of 8 October - attended by 10 or so people including the office of Damian Hinds MP a public meeting was held at St Peter’s Hall in the afternoon of 9 October with about 12 people present plus people from the NHS.
Amongst those there were Councillors Jamie Matthews, Anne Stephenson and Chris Paige. Others included the Patient Participation Group of The Grange Surgery.
Wendy Rees Managing Director of the NHS Division responsible spoke.
The handouts/sides will be available on their website (see below).
They said they have been testing the model since May and report more at home care happening, no negative impact on hospital discharges or on local GPs or social care, nor ‘increased challenges faced by carers’.
Final proposals by the end of November at Council Overview and Scrutiny Committees.
Only Rowan ward affected - no impact on End of Life care, they say.
