On Tuesday Petersfield Football club dropped a bombshell through social media that they were parting ways half way through the season with their overachieving manager Connor Hoare. This news rocked the Petersphere and just as the anger and confusion began to surface amongst the fans, all the players and coaching staff of the men's first team quit soon after. The board of directors came under fire as fans and players criticised the running of the club. The board decided to hold a meeting at the club on Friday to address fan concerns and inform them of the most immediate plans to tackle the crisis. Shine Radio attended the meeting and spoke with members of the board afterward to ask why it had come to this and what the next step. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . Finally the stormy weather subsides and field sports return. In football, title chasing Petersfield the Rams travel to Andover needing to keep the pressure up on Stoneham as both teams forge ahead of the pack in search of league glory. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . Liss Athletic aren't afraid of a tough challenge in fact, they thrive on it. No bigger challenge exists than top of the table Crofton Saints in their back yard. https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . Pompey are now embroiled in a relegation battle and must pick up points from teams also in the same fight. This Saturday they hosted Blackburn Rovers. Also in the football we hear from Ben Bentley, the man charged with all the exciting development projects over at Love Lane and Penns Place. Petersfield rugby club have accepted the challenge of proving they can mix it with the best sides in Regional 2 South league. All that needs doing now is to show it. Field sports have been majorly disrupted over the last 2 weekends, with many games postponed, but there is some football action with Liss playing Hedge End https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic and Portsmouth facing a tough Bristol City side. After a horrible result for Petersfield rugby club last weekend the pitch at Penns place is still not in fit condition for a game so opponents Havant kindly suggest having the fixture at their ground. That's where the kindness ends because both these mid table sides have top 5 spots in mind and are desperate to take points from each other. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . The mens hockey side had a great result last weekend  and want to now put a winning streak together. This time around, Aldershot are the visitors to Bedales. The womens side on the other hand are looking to reverse their fortunes after a literal 'drubbing' last Saturday but their opponents Bournemouth will certainly give no ground https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/ . Steep Lawn tennis club never rest, even in Winter. They take part in the EH league and face the 'ever-tough' opponents that are Haslemere A sides. https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/steepLawnTennisClub . We speak with Ben Bentley the man charged with Petersfield Town football projects, about the upgrading of club facilities and the ambitious plans on the horizon. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . In football, Cup-Kings Liss Athletic have themselves 2 cup games in the short space of a few days to contend with. https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . Some recent results have disappointed this very ambitious side this season and  pressure is mounting to gain points and close the gap on the top teams. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ Football couldn't have a busier time of year just now. The Wessex Premier league leaders Petersfield host Laverstock and Ford.  A team on paper they would expect to beat but football has a funny habit of producing surprises https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . Liss Athletic are having a challenging season with a mixed set of results. This weekend Andover are the opposition. https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . In the table tennis, Petersfield have 6 sides in competitive leagues, 4 of which are in Haslemere division A. Petersfield Hockey clubs are back in action and looking to gain some momentum. Bournemouth await the mens side and Hamble put up a challenge to women's https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/ .In the table tennis, Petersfield have 6 sides in competitive leagues. The flagship A side - who are title favourites - face Haslemere's next best in the B side who should still be a stiff challenge https://www.petersfieldttclub.org.uk/ We also have a catch up with Steep Lawn tennis club who have now moved into the winter league https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/steepLawnTennisClub

A football fiesta this week with Petersfield's the Rams looking to jump straight back on the horse after a bruising defeat to league leaders Stoneham last weekend. This season, the league is shaping up to be a 2 way battle between Stoneham and Petersfield for the title but the Rams must get their campaign back on track as they host Bournemouth https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . Liss Athletic show patches of brilliance after beating top side Shirley last weekend. A more modest task in the shape of Meon Milton should be an easier prospect but Liss and football are unpredictable https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . Petersfield's women's side have been nothing short of a revelation in their newly promoted league with 4 wins from 4. And now a cup game with Horndean is their next test. Have coaches Sam and Ash prepared the side for tougher competition this season? Pompey are looking to build on their survival in the league last season and make some steady progress towards the top half of the table this time around. 2 home games see them face Coventry and Stoke City. In the rugby, the high-flying ambitions of Petersfield for title glory are again to be tested this weekend. Another giant this time in the form of Bournemouth travel to Penns Place https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . The table tennis is well and truly under way.  Petersfield's reputation as the best side in the Haslemere league carries expectations and pressure. The A side are looking for 2 wins from 2, this time travelling to Fernhurst https://www.petersfieldttclub.org.uk/ . And we'll also have all the previews of the upcoming sport in your local area and where you need to be to catch the best of the action.

In the Sportlight welcomes back the start of the table tennis season. https://www.petersfieldttclub.org.uk/ The club has been so dominant in the Haslemere league for so long that its forgotten what it was like to not be the champions. So a 2nd place finish in the last season was a 'body blow'. But this has made the club more determined than ever to regain the title they believe is rightly theirs. The rugby side travel to Twickenham this week after impressing with 4 wins from 5. A stuttering Twickenham side have picked up 7 bonus points from 5 games but only one win. But this should set off alarm bells for all opposition, clearly this side has something about them. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . In football, Petersfield the Rams host the most fancied side in the league Stoneham. In recent weeks, both of these sides have started to open a gap at the top of the table between themselves and the 'also-rans'. Who is the best side in the league and is this game  a true indicator of the eventual champions? https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ .Liss Athletic football club continue to show their brilliance at times but lack consistency. They are also playing the league leading side in Locks Heath. https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . In our preview of Petersphere sports, we'll give you all the upcoming sport and where to find the best of the action in the week ahead.

Every rugby game seems like an event and Petersfield have a side that can really challenge for the title this year. But with expectation comes pressure. Petersfield lie in 5th place and host 4th place Wimborne. Both sides are boasting 3 wins out of 4 and somebody's record is about to be tarnished https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . In football the men's Rams side relentlessly push towards their own title amibtions. It seems only 3 points will do these days as both they and Stoneham start to pull away from the chasing pack. The women's side also have an impressive record winning 4 out of 4 games so far. This time it's a break from league action as the play a cup game. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ The hockey teams have not got off to the best of starts, in playing away to Chichester, finally they look to score some valuable points in their respective leagues. https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/

All our local football sides are in action last weekend, Petersfield the Rams have a cup and league game after narrowly missing out on beating Southampton in a penalty shootout recently https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ and the newly promoted women's side are in relentless form just now and have taken their new league by storm with a perfect win record from their first 3 games. The very talented Liss side have wobbled a little recently but nobody there hit the panic button. But can there a bigger test than facing league leaders Shirley in their backyard. Does the result here show who the best team in the league is perhaps?  https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic And talking of facing league leaders, thats exactly what Pompey's task on Saturday was. Middlesborough are travelling a long way and will not expect to return north with no points. Both men's and women's hockey seasons are under way now but to date, neither of the first sides have scored league points thus far. Fortunes must surely turn around https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/ . In the rugby, our much improved and title hungry Petersfield side are looking for more points this time away to Chobham, a side they were beaten by last time around. If they are serious about a title challenge this season, this is exactly the type of game that needs a win. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/

So it's Isaac's final week as  co-host with Kevin as he says farewell to In the Sportlight. But in a finale worthy of such a monumentous event, what better way to bow out than the eagerly anticipated battle royale. Yes Baguette jousting is finally here in potentially one of the most ridiculous, hilarious but hard fought battles of the century so far. In football, Petersfield the Rams petersfieldtownfc.co.uk  face a top rated side in AFC Stoneham and Liss Athletic https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic look to correct an erratic run of form and steady the ship. Our fast-improving rugby team have a home game against Guildford as they look to bounce back from a tough defeat last week at the hands of WInchester https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ and the men's and women's hockey teams are looking for their first wins to kick start their campaigns https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/ . Isaac gives his most memorable moments of the podcast so far in a farewell to a much missed presenter. The hockey season is near upon us with just one week to go. Petersfield host a launch day to get everyone in shape in their final preparations https://www.petersfieldhockeyclub.com/

A massive week in the football sees Petersfield's the Rams attempting to keep their 100% record seeking 5 wins out of the first 5 games.  But they face a side with pedigree in Christchurch also with a 100% record. In a game with monsoon-like weather, this is a battle against tough opposition and the elements. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . Injury-ravaged Liss have 2 games in short succession and are seeking 6 points to stay in touch with their main challengers for the title this season https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . Portsmouth have started solidly thus far and a home tie against Preston is exactly the sort of match that will demonstrate whether they have what it takes to finish in the top half of the league this season www.portsmouthfc.co.uk . We catch up with the Petersfield cricket sides https://www.petersfieldcricket.club/ and Steep lawn tennis club https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/steepLawnTennisClub for the latest results and news. This season they are hoping to avoid the bad start that so hampered their progress last time around https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/lissathletic . Kevin, Isaac and Josh take a trip to Penns Place where Petersfield Rugby club have their 1st and 2nd sides playing friendly matches against Portsmouth in the run-up to the start of their seasons' in September.
