Petersfield is twinned with two towns in France and Germany - Barentin in Normandy and Warendorf, near Munster in north west Germany.
Petersfield Twinning Association promotes and arranges exchange visits in both directions.
The delegations visiting from France and Germany like Petersfield a great deal and members of the association who visit Barentin and Warendorf often stay with families to experience a different culture.
German is less taught as a subject in Petersfield's schools now; Spanish is on the rise, so twinning is important says the Chair of the Twinning Association, Ray Vogt who spoke to Mike Waddington about it and who is appealing for new members - language is not a barrier!
