It's VE Day in Petersfield, seventy five years after the declaration of peace across Europe.

Plans for street parties, music and events may be on hold but in this special programme we’ll hear a young soldier’s reflections on VE Day, from his 1945 posting in Germany, Ryan Watts from Petersfield Museum unearths secrets of the town’s wartime past, the Reverend Will Hughes offers prayers and reflections, we’ll hear messages from our local council leaders and there’s music too.

You’ll hear the Last Post played at the High Street War Memorial and a famous wartime song that we can all sing along to.
