The Fire station in Petersfield on Swann Street is recruiting members from the community to join them to be on a paid retainer for on-call work.
Station Commander Adam Bundle, 20 years a firefighter himself, says people can try the job out at an Open Day on Saturday 12 July at the station, between 10am and 2pm.
He talks through what's required with Mike Waddington and explains all the support and training available.
People would be on a paid retainer for a number of contracted hours (depending on your circumstances) and when called out you have to be able to reach the station within a specified time.
