Local news for Wednesday 20th May

Ben Stickler is one week into his new role at Petersfield's Festival Hall, working to Venues Manager, Sean Ridley. 

Ben tells Mike Waddington of his links to Petersfield, his commitments to the arts (and early exposure to them), happy customers and a venue linked to the community.

He also says why he used to be a drummer.

Visiting artistes expect more from a venue too nowadays and this is behind some of the plans for the Festival Hall.

Four cyclists from Petersfield’s Twin Town Warendorf in Germany were formally welcomed to the town by the Mayor, Cllr Chris Paige on Tuesday 19 May.

They cycled 70 to 90 kilometres a day to get here.

They were joined on the day by the Petersfield Bike Buddies.

We spoke to the Mayor and Dirk (who apart from saying how friendly every one was, read out a message from Warendorf's own Mayor) .

Mike Waddington also speaks to Sabine one of the cyclists, and Malcolm and Hillary from Petersfield Bike Buddies.

The Town Criers got the breakfast occasion underway!
