Local resident and actress Joely Richardson opened Bramshott Open Gardens on Saturday 13th June.

Best known for Nip/Tuck, Downton Abbey The Finale, 101 Dalmatians and The Gentleman, Joely has been a visitor before, with her mother Dame Vanessa Redgrave. 

Every two years since it started in 1987, Bramshott residents open their beautiful gardens and offer refreshments and advice and you can also buy plants, drinks, afternoon tea and barbecue food int he churchyard. The weekend ticket covers both days and there are minibuses for the gardens further away. Mark Simpson caught up with Joely on Saturday.

Pieter and Tammy saw a need for an environment where children and families can play and connect in the heart of Petersfield. Their vision grew after the former Little Leaf Play Café closed its doors and saw an opportunity for a brand new venue focused around early years and learning through play. t's a real family business, with Tammy's mum bringing her professional background in education and a passion for supporting children's development. They are excited to open on the 8th July and are hoping to become an established pillar of the Petersfield community.

The Salvation Army in Petersfield is 140 years old this year.

They have an exhibition on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June at their Hall on Swan Street, so people can see and hear all about it.

Regimental Sergeant Major Steve Field talks to Mike Waddington about the event, some of the history, the War Cry and where the Salvation Army is going - a long way from starting in London in 1865 to 135 countries today.
