You probably drive through the tunnel just up the A3 from the Petersphere without giving it a second thought – unless it’s closed. There's an on-site team working 24-7 to keep it safe and operational.  Jordan Cummings is a Control Room Team Manager based at the Hindhead Tunnel and Debbie Wood works as a Tunnel Safety Officer for the south east region.

Both work for National Highways, which manages & maintains England's motorways & major A roads. Jordan & Debbie give us a taste of the job & explain why for them, they often take it home with them. They spoke to Jo Gray as part of a behind-the-scenes visit.
