The Ladies Captain’s Day took the theme of the wartime years with a VE Day themed afternoon tea.

Everyone was dressed in red, white and blue. There was ration books and the Petersfield Dementia Music Group came along to help everyone sing wartime favourite songs.

Over £500 was raised on the day for Dementia Friendly Petersfield.

Golf Club stepped back in time of make do and mend

We are seeing more A frame boards in town to advertise local businesses. Although useful for advertising, they can also create safety and accessibility problems for those using the High Street.

This is something of a concern to Andrew Bulmer from the Street Scene Group about the many now in the Town Square.

Julie Butler talks to him on this subject along with other things the Street Scene Group are working on at the moment.

Pavement signs – love them or loathe them?

A passionate group of Viking re-enactors is bringing history to life across the Petersphere, showcasing traditional crafts, rune writing and immersive storytelling at local events.

Bjarnarfolk also gathers twice a month at Petersfield Community Centre to hone their battle skills. While their battle dress may make them look like a fearsome band of warriors, Jo Gray recently received a particularly warm welcome.

Stanley Edward and his fellow re-enactors share their passion for history, their enthusiasm for the hobby, and the wider benefits it offers to those who take part.

The group is open to all. Anyone interested in joining can get in touch via the Bjarnarfolk Facebook page, where details of upcoming appearances and events are regularly shared.
