Petersfield Town Council is offering free trees to residents to plant in front and back gardens.

The trees are supplied by the Hampshire Forest Partnership and people can apply by 8 December - at no cost.

Cllr Anne Stephenson and Jayde Taylor, Climate Projects Officer at the Town Council, explain the scheme and the benefits to the environment, particularly the urban environment, for shade and cooling. 

Surprisingly, tree canopy cover is below the national average in Petersfield.
