There were 300 entries for this annual award and the judge, award winning poet Daljit Naga, chose a winner from the 50 shortlisted.
The First Prize went to Suzanna Fitzpatrick for her NHS inspired ‘This Spring’.
Joint Second Prizes – Monica Kendall for ‘North Downs Way’ and John Saddler for ‘Wild Garlic Pickers’.
They can be read on the Fellowship's website (below)
The prize comes from a legacy Edwards Thomas’s grandson, Edward Corston Thomas, bequeathed.
The fellowship will be publishing another anthology soon containing all the winners and commended of the last few years – two volumes are already published and some of the winners will appear at the Literary Festival on 27 February at Steep Church (which runs until Sunday 1 March.).
Jeremey Mitchel from the Edward Thomas Fellowship, talks to Mike Waddington about the competition, forthcoming events and reads the winning entry.
