It’s Dementia Action Week in Libraries and they have a huge range of materials to stimulate memories.
Mike Waddington spoke to Nicolette Morgan, 25 years as a Home Library Service Coordinator, about the remarkable resources the Hampshire Library Service provides at its 40 libraries to stimulate reminiscence and relaxation for people with dementia and those caring for them.
They touch on all the senses (there are leg warmers, music, photos and smell-boxes), with some books written by medical professionals for people living with dementia.
They can also bring these resources to you through their 250 volunteers (who currently see 450 people at home).
They are now developing a 1990's memory box.
Pop into the library for more about what's happening this week and what the Home Library Service can do.
Nicolette says her job is varied and different every day and feels it makes a difference.
