Damian Hinds MP update for March

With only four weeks of his mayoral term left, Councillor Chris Paige tells us what he’s looking forward to as well as what he's been up to.

Speaking to Julie Butler and Mike Waddington Chris speaks about meeting more local voluntary groups, his awe of volunteers, welcoming new businesses and a group of cyclists from our twin town Warendorf, to Petersfield.

As always he gives us an insight into what it's like for him and his family and how he is managing his diabetes.

Out with a bang - a busy final month for Petersfield's Town Mayor

Megan Evans, who lives and works in Petersfield, is a fundraiser for DeafBliind UK.

They support people who have degrees of sight and hearing loss, some totally so, and they want people to understand more about it and offer help.

In an uplifting conversation, Megan speaks to Mike Waddington about their work and the15 different ways deafblind people use to communicate. 

Deafblind Awareness Week runs from 22nd to 28th of June and commemorates Helen Keller -  one of the most well-known deafblind people in history, famous for her political activism, and for being the first deafblind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree.

DeafBlind UK looking for Petersfield's help

On Sunday 31 May at 6pm the Reverend Will Hughes and Petersfield Royal British Legion will lead a ceremony outside the church for Commander Jones.

He was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, for outstanding courage 110 years ago, on that day and at that time.

Chris Paige, Chairman of Petersfield RBL tells Mike Waddington about the importance of remembrance and how the Roya British Legion is the custodian of this ethos.

He also mentions the VE Day Ceremony on 8 May at the War Memorial, the Flag Raising at the Town Hall and VJ Day on 15 August.
