Abri Housing Association and 6a Vision Homes, hopes to start construction of 34 apartments for East Hampshire Council in November. They hope to be completed within 2 years.
Rents will be affordable at about 50% of market rates.
The site, opposite the Railway station will see some demolition and is likely to be called Tews Court.
Sam Stone, Director of Land and Planning at Abri told Mike Waddington about the plan, the importance of good standards - including for the environment, water management and biodiversity. He stresses we need more homes and at affordable rents.
They hope it will be called Tews Court after the local business that was there from 1910.
