Welcome to a new episode of the Kholodna Kava (Cold Coffee) podcast with your host, Iva Lomas. In this open and heartfelt conversation on creativity and visibility across social media, Iva is joined by talented artist Olha Son, who originally hails from Odesa and is now based in the UK. Together, they explore whether building an online presence is a mere waste of time or an indispensable bridge for artists seeking to connect with their true audience, navigate self-doubt, and sustain their creative voice.

Throughout the episode, Olha shares an essential insight: overcoming the fear of public criticism and the dread of being judged is rarely about what strangers say, but about how harshly we treat ourselves afterwards. For so many people who have lived through the war in Ukraine and had to rebuild their lives in Britain, engaging in art and self-expression serves as vital psychological therapy, resilience, and emotional healing. From taking her first hesitant steps online in Odesa to embracing creative visibility as a self-employed artist in the UK, Olha’s candid journey demonstrates how vital community and emotional support are along the way.
