Canine Partners, the assistance dog charity, will close the doors of its Heyshott centre in a few weeks time. From June 2023 the charity, which operates nationally, will have its headquarters in a purpose-built training centre in Leicestershire.
Canine Partners' CEO, Alex Lochrane, talks candidly about the financial pressures on the charity of running two sites and the decision to consolidate, which has disappointed local volunteers.
Alex explains why Petersfield's many puppy parents, fundraisers and other volunteers are more important than ever to the charity's future plans and success.
He gives an insight into volunteering trends after the pandemic and how they have affected Canine Partners alongside other assistance dog charities.
With new litters due in the summer, Canine Partners is actively looking for puppy parents who can take on puppies in training in the area.
