On Tuesday 25 August SWR staff ran a cake and coffee stand to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The array of - mainly home made cakes - was very impressive and there's a sweepstake; the prize are rail tickets for a family of five to travel.

Sheree, who is a Heath and Wellbeing Practitioner at SWR, speaks to Mike Waddington about examining yourself but the other staff and customers speak about why they came and, well, the cake was good!

Jen is the 28 year old manager of the Black Sheep Pub on Sheep Street just off the square where she, with her partner and two children, wants to prove a success. 

She talks to Mike Waddington about the Sports Bar and how community events help all Petersfield pubs - all of which she thinks are good, with different and varied offerings, and visits them herself wiith her family. 

She welcomes the return of the Festival and hopes for more.

They run many events and the Bank Holiday Weekend is an important time for them

She has worked security herself, wants the pub to be a good neighbour and offers a listening ear for those with troubles as well as the 'Ask Angela' safety initiative.

Mike Waddington  speaks to them both about the accolade and what they bring to the town - character and tourists.

'Yours' magazine features Petersfield's Town Crying Couple

Inspired to raise money for research into Motor Neurone Disease, Pete has created an Oasis tribute band who will be performing at The Folly Wine Bar in November. Despite his sporting background, Pete wanted to challenge himself in a different way, and so he is learning how to sing like Liam Gallagher. Pete's wife is learning bass guitar and two young performers from Bedales School have also joined the band. Shine Radio spoke to Pete who explained the personal reasons behind the fundraising.
