The lure of great music at one of the many stages at Victorious Festival last year brought old friends back together – and sparked something unexpected. Jo Gray met up with Petersfield teacher Joe and Abbie from James Joe to hear how a chance encounter, a twist of fate and a shared love of music led to the formation of the band.

Joff & Geoff light-up Petersfield

Two local musicians have joined forces to launch a brand-new venture with a big idea: bringing local artists and independent venues together to create more opportunities for live music – and making sure everyone gets a fair slice of the pie!

Zehra Peermohamed and Ian Otway, members of local band Fate of the Magpie, are putting their experience in the music industry to good use. They've developed a new venture designed to champion local talent, support independent venues and keep the area's live music scene thriving. Jo Gray caught up with them to find out more.

Zehra and Ian would love to hear from any interested local artists or venues. Email magpiepromotion@gmail.com to find out more.
