WA's first dedicated screen production facility is a step closer with today's announcement it will be built on a 16-hectare site within the Malaga METRONET station precinct.
Film Critic and Former film editor at the West Mark Naglazas told Oly Peterson Whiteman park has been on the cards for many years.
"More importantly perhaps than the studio itself or the physical space is high technology, and that's the cost," Mr Naglazas said.
"So there's a lot of things involved in this."
In response to Oly's question 'might we see the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Margot Robbie wandering around?' Mr Naglazas said;
"There was a film shot here many years ago... and the very glamorous Rose Burn was wandering around Armadale. So its not unprecedented!"
