Deputy Premier Roger Cook has put his hand up for WA’s top job, releasing a statement declaring his intention to take over from McGowan. 

Minister Cook said after six years as Deputy Premier he is more than ready to lead WA. 

The Minister for Environment Reece Whitby told Oliver Peterson on 6PR Perth Live there are numerous Labor members who could step into the leadership role.
