Lara Jensen from Improve Train Lighting and Level Crossing Safety Group

Next week marks the 20th National Rail Safety Week. 25 years ago Lara’s brother and his friends were killed at a notorious level crossing near Jennacubinne by a poorly lit train. After his death the coroner recommended making lighting on trains mandatory. 24 years later the recommendation still has not been taken up by the state government.
