Qantas has announced its one of its highest profits ever, with a net profit of $1.4 billion in the six months leading up to December.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said this profit will allow the airline to provide cheaper fares and better services to passengers.

Mr Joyce told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live passengers will benefit from their profit.
