Mel Congerton, City of Swan Deputy Mayor gave a statement on Perth Live to respond to Peter Lyndon-James’ claims the City of Swan is trying to force out Shalom House.

"I am amazed at the comments made by Mr Lyndon-James. We recognise that the Shalom House is a good program but it needs to be done in a way that approvals are required for developments in any part of the City of Swan," he told Oliver Peterson.

"If Mr Lyndon-James wants to continue to develop the properties that he's bought, illegally, and not applying for the appropriate applications then the City will continue to take notice for Mr Lyndon-James to comply. But it seems he does not want to comply."
