A global movement is encouraging people to be more conscious with their consumption of material goods, this October - It's called Buy Nothing New Month.

Tamara DiMattina told Oly Peterson on Perth Live that it's not about spending no money ever, rather being really thoughtful about the things we buy and the impact that's having on our planet.

"Most of us know that our environment and our planet is in trouble, we are aware of it and and we feel bad about it. But the great thing is there are solutions," she says.
