The City of Subiaco has put together a draft policy which could mean a 25 per cent discount off development application fees, in circumstances where there is evidence that residents have consulted proactively with neighbours.
Subiaco Mayor David McMullen told Oly Peterson on Perth Live it could save time, resources and a bit of heart ache.
"This is a first for local government in the Perth metro region... and as far as we know we'd be the first council in WA trying it as well," said Mr McMullen
"The idea is about getting neighbours to speak to each other, to engage, to converse, and hopefully result in some good development outcomes for our community.
