It has become clear to Perry, himself Included, that Christians are uncomfortable being human. Perry admits, “My default mode is to come off as all put together.” So Perry takes a risk and shares some health concerns he’s facing right now. It’s conversation about the power of weakness.
Sometimes Shawna questions God’s timing. Martha & Mary both questioned Jesus’ timing too. He didn’t come right away. Shawna wonders if they were really wondering if Jesus cared. When Jesus arrived, he wept. He cared. Jesus waited with a purpose. When we question God’s timing we can be sure He’s right on time.
“We must go through many trials to enter the kingdom of God.” Perry’s son Taylor met Hashem in the Middle East. Hashem dramatically came to Jesus after having a dream of him. But on the heels of that miracle, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He sunk into despair and decided to end his life.
Sometimes Shawna can be pretty hard on herself and she questions if God could use someone like her. But Shawna knows the truth, “I am the temple of God. A carrier of the presence of God. That gives me God – confidence to bring the kingdom of God into the here and now!”
