Ultrasonic sensors offer impressive functionality: they measure by transmitting high-frequency sound pulses. The measurement concept allows reliable and accurate detection and measurement that is largely independent of target surface type, color/reflectivity, and ambient conditions such as dust/dirt, fog, snow, or temperature fluctuations. Combining ultrasonic detection with IO-Link communication makes using and harnessing the sensor’s capabilities a breeze. Detection reliability in the presence of interference targets in the detection field further enhances the capabilities of these all-rounders.
