Stephen Saunders, arriving in Canberra in the early 80's, fresh from Melbourne where he was playing the music of underground bands and pop bands on his own show on 3RRR, headed straight to 2XX. He was soon pumping out two hours of postpunk or rock or whatever on Saturday afternoons and getting a real blast out of it. Stephen stayed with 2XX for two decades presenting shows that explored a wide range of genres. He reviewed for The Canberra Times and rock magazines, has written a book about rock lyrics and writes for The Independent.
