We begin with my nickname. Matt is not a fan of "Nellie" with Joel Nelson also being in the Audacy Pittsburgh fold. Other nicknames are discussed. 'Tuna', after Charlie Tuna, is thrown around first. Matt then begins with the Pirates and what we have in store for tonight. Bryant McFadden joins us at 8:30. The Pirates were swept by the Oakland A's. Matt goes through all the negatives that have happened with the Pirates so far. The only positive from today was Quinn Priester. Which hitter has developed well under the Ben Cherington and Derek Shelton era. 

Neil Walker joins Matt to talk about the Pirates current struggles. What needs to change? How can the hitters break out of their slumps? Neil gives us some insight on some adjustments that could be made and what they can do to try and get back on track. 

We take a few phone calls about the Pirates. 

The Pirates were 9-2 at one point and now they are 14-18. What happened to have them lose 16 of their last 21 games. We take more phone calls. Some callers are asking if they just simply forgot how to hit?

A quick look at the NHL playoffs. A listener asks if Keller, Cruz, and Davis just are not good enough. Matt says it is a real concern and a fear of his. 

Brian Batko joins from his back deck. Matt and Brian talk about becoming the Dad's they never thought they would become. Talking about the Steelers wide receiver room and what they could do to add someone to the room. Brian says he has an upcoming piece about projecting the Steelers' roster way too early. He has some sleeper picks and wants to see more of what the Steelers will do with the wide receiver room.
