DJ Pup Dawg caught up with Will Watkins, Vice President of Programming and Partnership at the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts. Will shared all the details for the upcoming Freedom Day Juneteenth celebration happening this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Now in its 30th year, the historic community event—which started as a simple Roxbury family reunion—has officially moved to a massive new location at Playstead Park in Franklin Park. Attendees can look forward to a true family-friendly atmosphere packed with free community resources, free food options distributed by local organizations, and plenty of dynamic spaces to connect. The celebration is entirely free and open to the public, though Will advises everyone to pack their own lawn chairs and tents to stay comfortable in the Saturday heat. For more information on the festivities and to view the full partner lineup, check out the event page.
