A 44-year-old Miami man died Tuesday night when an SUV hit him as he stood on the shoulder of Florida’s Turnpike in suburban Boca Raton. The man’s truck had stalled out on the highway’s south shoulder near Glades Road. An SUV driven by a Delray Beach man failed to stay in its lane and hit the man and his truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene. FHP declined to identify either the man who died or the driver who hit him, saying its investigation remained open.
