A former principal drew a six-figure salary from Palm Beach County public schools for nearly a year without reporting for duty or doing any evident work, a school board investigation has found. Its inspector general’s office blamed poor communication and bent rules for how Bonnie Fox collected her $134,000 salary without showing up, communicating with her supervisor or completing any duties. The inspector found Fox, the longtime principal at Odyssey Middle School in Boynton Beach, and several schools leaders violated state and district policies in allowing it to happen. Fox has retired and could not be reached for comment.
