At JFK Hospital in West Palm Beach, a man had to spend two nights in the hospital because he was mistaken for a COVID-19 patient by hospital staff. According to Palm Springs resident Sam Wynder, he was scheduled for a quick outpatient heart procedure but was put in a room on the fourth floor, which included COVID patients. It took Wynder the better part of a day to be freed from the COVID floor. By then it was so late they had him stay overnight on another floor to be ready for his procedure the next morning. But the procedure was delayed and by the time it was finished that evening, the hospital couldn't get anyone from its cardiology department to clear him for release, so he spent a second night.
