New indoor training facility in Gardens a home run with major leaguers

View descriptionShare

In Palm Beach Gardens, major leaguers are sharing training space with middle-schoolers at the new Cressey Sports Performance elite training facility at Gardens Park. The 10,000-square-foot facility, which opened in late December, offers sports training, seminars, clinics, evaluations and physical therapy to amateur, professional and Olympic athletes. The majority, however, come from Major League Baseball. Cressey trainers have worked extensively with many players including Cy Young Award winners Max Scherzer, Corey Kluber and Justin Verlander. Dozens of others have stopped by during the past month, including pitchers Steve Cishek of the Chicago White Sox, Brad Hand of the Cleveland Indians and Patrick Corbin of the Washington Nationals. Cressey owners built a second facility in Jupiter in 2014, but closed it once the Palm Beach Gardens location opened.
