It took a jury less than two hours Tuesday to find Zachary Penna guilty in the fatal stabbings of two Greenacres men in November 2015. The Circuit Judge sentenced Penna to life in prison on two murder charges. Authorities say Penna stabbed Freddy Sanchez and Wayne Dixon outside their home and then went on a crime spree that took him from Delray Beach to the Space Coast, where deputies shot him and took him into custody. Penna’s attorneys argued that he suffered from mental illness and was delusional on the night of the attacks, believing he was a descendant of an Egyptian god. A psychiatrist for prosecutors said Penna’s behavior at several points during his spree showed he knew right from wrong.
