GL Homes plans to build its next development on Lyons Road just south of the Valencia Reserve development it built 10 years ago. The 55-and-older planned-unit development will cover 362.7 acres on land currently owned by the Whitworth family west of Boynton Beach. Whitworth Farms began growing vegetables on its land 70 years ago, but stopped last year, citing competition from Mexico. The number of homes GL will build is not determined, but the company’s 55-plus projects typically have more than 500 homes.
